Doodhpathri gets its name from the milky-white stream that runs through its meadows, and it stays far quieter than Gulmarg or Pahalgam simply because fewer tour groups make the detour. Ponies graze freely across the grass, and the pine ridgeline around it keeps the wind off on most days.
We add it to our longer itineraries as a change of pace — no gondola, no crowd, just an open meadow and a stream.
