About this drive

Gulmarg is roughly two hours from Srinagar through Tangmarg. Leaving early matters here: the gondola queue builds through the morning, and the road up from Tangmarg is slower in winter when a permit and chains may be required. The vehicle waits at Gulmarg for as long as you need and drives you back the same evening.

Srinagar-registered vehicles are not permitted on Gulmarg's inner sightseeing circuit — that is the local union's stand, and it applies to every operator, not just to Snowline. So the day is drop, wait and return: your vehicle takes you up, stays for as long as you are there, and brings you back. If you want the inner circuit, it is booked from the union stand on the day and paid there.
